Their main income came from foreign exchange of collections of accounts for third of loans. In 1488 in return of a large loan made to at the Archduke of Austria, received the entire production of the silver of the Tyrol. to the end of the fifteenth century, the Fugger controlled the mines of the silver, of copper, of iron of the Silesia, of the Slovak Republic, of the Bohemia of the Tyrol, Carinthia and of the of the Spanish. Bankers of the Habsburgs, took a great political influence. Granting or less: of the loans to the sovereign, they were able of influencing the policy of the time. Is the case of Charles V, Emperor: the necessary votes to the election, were bought with money of the Fugger. In 1500 the Fugger had opened, including a branch to Rome. In exchange for loans of the Pope, won the contract of indulgences, in Central and Eastern ... the Cardinals have to stand up in front of him, and all the merchants of the world have called it "inspired". Morituri Te Salutant!
Morituri Te Salutant!
Y'know, I could be wrong. . .but I think I'm the first to put Ludwig von Beethoven & Rob Zombie together. . . This is a short "history" of the American armed forces in warfare, and a gift of sorts to them all. It includes the American Revolution, the War of 1812, the Mexican-American War, the Civil War, the Indian Wars of the latter 19th century, the Spanish-American War, World War I, World War II, the Korean War, the Vietnam War, the Gulf War, and the invasions of Afghanistan and Iraq. I would have liked to include some of the many 'lesser' conflicts, but lacked time and space to do so. There has probably not been a single year since independence when Americans were not at war of some type: Indian wars (justified or not) lasted from the first days of the country to the beginning of the 20th Century. Rarely a year has passed when United States forces were not deployed somewhere around the world at the bidding of Congress or the President. When someone joins the United States Armed Forces, an oath is taken. That oath is not to an ideology, a belief, a political party or a politician. That oath is taken "to support and defend" the Constitution of the United States. Nothing else. Good people and bad people have served over the centuries, yet all have been taken part in the shaping of this country and the world. It's also a story of technology: photography showed up just before the American Civil War. Other technological developments are self-evident, such as UAVs and stealth ...

Why We Fight: Divide and Conquer - WW2 Documentary Propaganda Film (1943)
Why We Fight: Divide and Conquer - WW2 Documentary Propaganda Film (1943)
DVD: www.amazon.com thefilmarchive.org Divide and Conquer (1943) was the third film of Frank Capra's Why We Fight propaganda film series, dealing with the Nazi conquest of Western Europe in 1940. The film begins immediately after the fall of Poland. Of the two major Western Allies of 1940, the United Kingdom is first to be mentioned. The role of the Royal Navy in blockading Germany is highlighted, in that it means that Germany must overcome British resistance in order to clear the way for its world conquest. Hitler's treachery towards the small neutral countries of Europe is exposed - to Denmark: "We have concluded a non-aggression pact with Denmark" - to Norway: "Germany never had any quarrel with the Northern States and has none today" - to the Netherlands: "The new Reich has always endeavored to maintain the traditional friendship with Holland" - and to Belgium: "The Reich has put forth no claim which may in any way be regarded as a threat to Belgium". These quotes are repeated after the conquest of each of these countries is shown. The first targets of the Nazis in 1940 were Denmark and Norway. Nazi interest in Norway is described in terms of Germany's desire to use Norway's fjords as U-boat bases, and to use airfields in Norway for a bomber attack on the British naval base at Scapa Flow. After Hitler's surprise invasion of Denmark is briefly mentioned, the film accuses the Nazis of using Trojan Horse ships - designed to look like merchant ships but concealing troops ...
